Two places, two jobs
Appearance › Customize › Listing Pages sets how every listing page is laid out. Each page’s own words are on its Edit screen — Real Estate › Cities, Areas and the rest — in the Listing Page box.
Layout, in the Customizer
- Settings for — choose All listing pages, or one kind of page and tick Give these pages their own settings. A kind without its own follows All listing pages. The preview opens one of that kind’s pages.
- Page layout — the main column, top to bottom: breadcrumbs, heading, introduction, market snapshot, homes, more about the page, questions and links to similar pages. Tick to show, arrows to reorder. A part with nothing to say stays off the page.
- Map — across the top, beside the homes, or off; its height; whether it opens as a map or satellite view; whether nearby homes group into numbered circles until the map is zoomed in (to zoom 13 by default, as on the map search page); and whether city and area pages outline their place when its boundary is known, from your drawn areas and boundary packs first, then public boundaries.
- Homes — columns, homes per page, the first sort, page numbers or a Load More button, grid or list, and the count, sort menu and grid/list switch. Each card shows turns each part of a home card on or off, and Photo slider adds arrows to page through a home’s photos.
- Sidebar — left, right or none; whether it stays in view while scrolling; and its blocks in order: your Listing Pages Sidebar widgets, a home search, a sign-up, a home value estimate, featured homes, recently viewed, links to similar pages, an Agent card and a Contact form. The Contact form uses one of your forms from GenieCRM › Settings › Forms.
- Questions (FAQ) — the standard questions to ask, and whether answers open on click or all show.
- Design source — this layout (the default), or an Elementor archive template, which then draws the pages its display conditions cover.
Style, in the Customizer
Switch Listing Pages to Style, then click anything on the page in the preview, or pick it from the Element list: the page area, map, breadcrumbs, page heading, the introduction and its paragraphs, headings, links, bold text and lists, the market snapshot, the homes bar, every part of the home cards, page numbers, the longer copy, the questions and answers, the links to similar pages, and the sidebar with its headings, links, fields and buttons. Set font, size, weight, line height, letter spacing, capitals, color, background, spacing, border and shadow, with a hover look, separately for computers, tablets and phones. Each size has its unit beside it: font sizes in rem by default, so text grows with a visitor’s own text size, or px and em; spacing in px, rem, em or %; widths in px, % or vw; line height as a plain number such as 1.2. Styles apply to every listing page, or to one kind of page once it has its own settings.
Each page, on its Edit screen
- Content — the page heading (its one H1) and More about, longer copy shown below the homes. The Description stays the introduction above the homes. A Description that starts with its own main heading has that heading used as the page heading, so the page never has two. This page’s agent is the person the Agent card shows (the team when none is chosen); on plans with GenieCRM, the Contact form’s leads go to them.
- Questions — the page’s own questions and answers, and whether it shows the standard ones too. Suggest questions, with the AI features, drafts a few from the page’s own copy, homes and figures, skipping any already there. Check and change them; nothing publishes until you Update.
- Map — fit the homes, or move and zoom a map to where the page’s map should open.
- Layout — hide the map, the map’s outline, the sidebar or the questions on this page only.
Any page as a listing page
A page of your own, such as land for sale with lake rights, can look like your city and area pages. Edit the page, and in its Listing Page box tick Lay this page out as a listing page. Choose its homes by property type, sub-type, status, city and area; each box you fill in narrows the homes. What the page already says becomes its introduction, and it follows your settings for all listing pages. If the page already has a homes grid built in Elementor, it is taken out so homes do not show twice, and its choices are used; untick the box to put it back. The box also sets the page’s agent and its questions.
Standard questions answer themselves
Standard questions answer themselves and stay current. On every page and every plan: how many homes are for sale and what they cost, from the homes listed right now. On city and area pages, with Market Data (included from the Agent Pro plan up): what homes sell for, how long they take to sell, how many sell above asking and how much supply there is, from recent sales.
Every question shown is also marked up for search engines as an FAQ, so the questions on the page and the questions search engines read are always the same.
In an Elementor template
Add [mlsg_page_faq], [mlsg_page_snapshot] and [mlsg_page_more] to an archive template for the page’s questions, market snapshot and longer copy.
