IDX website questions answered
Is this a shared IDX platform or do I own the site?
You own it entirely. The site runs on WordPress on managed hosting included in your subscription — your domain, your database, your content. If you ever cancel, your WordPress site and all data are yours to take. Two things to know: the MLS Genie™ plugin stops working (it is subscription software), and the page builder licences (Beaver Builder and Elementor) are part of your MLS Genie™ subscription — you would need your own licences to keep using them after cancellation. Both are around $100/year each.
What IDX data powers the listings?
Listings are imported nightly from your MLS board via GenieScout™. We support over 600 MLS boards across the United States. Photos, fields, status changes, and withdrawals are all handled automatically.
How is this different from a BoldTrail or CINC website?
BoldTrail and CINC websites run on their platforms — when you cancel, the site disappears. MLS Genie™ builds on WordPress, which you own. Beyond ownership, our sites are custom-built for your market, not generated from a shared template library. SEO structure, schema markup, area pages, and search UX are all tailored to your specific MLS area.
Are the listing pages optimised for Google?
Yes. Every listing page includes structured data (Schema.org RealEstateListing), meta titles and descriptions, Open Graph tags, canonical URLs, and a sitemap. Area pages are built to rank for neighbourhood and city-level real estate searches in your market.
Can I edit the site myself?
Yes. The site is built with Beaver Builder, a visual drag-and-drop page builder. You can edit content, add pages, and update layouts without touching code. MLS listing pages are generated automatically — you never need to manually publish a listing.
Is the site compatible with Elementor or other page builders?
Yes. MLS Genie™ handles the real estate-specific templates — listing detail pages, search results, and area pages. Every other page on your site is a standard WordPress page, which means Beaver Builder, Elementor, Divi, or any other page builder works exactly as expected. Build your About page, neighbourhood guides, team page, and landing pages however you like. The two never conflict.
Does the website work with GenieCRM™?
Yes — deeply. Lead capture forms feed directly into GenieCRM™. Site visitor activity (listing views, saved searches, return visits) is tracked and surfaced on each lead's profile. Client alerts are triggered from saved search criteria set on the site.
