What is GeoGenie™?
GeoGenie™ is the area detection engine inside GenieScout Engine. It validates the geographic location of each imported listing against the expected boundaries for your configured areas. Listings that fall outside expected boundaries are held in quarantine rather than published.
Why this matters
MLS data occasionally contains listings with incorrect addresses or coordinate data — properties assigned to the wrong city or ZIP code. Without validation, these listings appear in the wrong search results on your site. GeoGenie™ catches them before they go live.
How validation works
As each listing is imported, GeoGenie™ checks its map pin against where the listing says it is and against the rest of your market. A listing that doesn't add up is quarantined: hidden from public search, still visible to you in GenieScout with a warning. If a listing can't be judged, it is published rather than held back.
Self-healing
When the MLS corrects a quarantined listing's location, GeoGenie™ checks it again and releases it back to public search automatically. Nothing is ever deleted.
