Configuring the chat widget

How to set up the appearance and behaviour of the GenieAI™ chat widget.

Accessing widget settings

Go to MLS Genie™ → GenieAI™ in the WordPress admin. The settings panel covers all configuration for the public chat widget.

Enabling the widget

The widget is disabled by default. Enter your API key and toggle the Enabled switch to make it live on your site. The widget will not appear publicly until both the API key is saved and the toggle is on.

Persona name

Set the name visitors see in the chat header — for example "Genie", "Alex", or your own branded assistant name. This field is only editable by Team Admin, Team Lead, and Administrator roles.

Widget position

Choose Bottom Right or Bottom Left for the widget's screen position. Bottom right is the default.

Widget pages

Control where the widget appears: All pages, Homepage only, or Listing pages only. Restricting to listing pages is recommended if you want the AI to focus on property-related conversations.

Brand colours

Set a primary colour and accent colour that match your agency branding. These control the widget header background and button colour respectively.

Lead capture mode

Choose between Natural (the AI asks for contact details conversationally when appropriate) or Direct (the AI asks for contact details more proactively). Natural mode is recommended for most sites.

Agent notification

Enable the agent notification toggle to receive an email whenever the AI captures a new lead.

We replaced BoomTown and three other tools the week we went live. The MLS sync alone saved us four hours a day. Our agents were in the CRM on day one — there was nothing to learn.
