Hazard risk scores explained

How to read and explain fire, flood, earthquake, and wind risk scores to your clients.

The four hazard types

Property Intelligence includes risk scores for four natural hazard categories: fire, flood, earthquake, and wind. Each score is expressed on a scale of 1–100, where higher scores indicate greater risk.

Score ranges

  • 1–25 — Minimal risk
  • 26–50 — Moderate risk
  • 51–75 — Elevated risk
  • 76–100 — High risk

Data sources

Hazard scores are derived from national risk databases and updated periodically. They reflect the structural risk of the property's location — not the condition of the property itself or insurance availability.

Disclosing hazard scores

These scores are informational and are not a substitute for professional hazard assessments or insurance advice. Always direct clients to consult with their insurance provider and review official disclosure requirements for your state.

We replaced BoomTown and three other tools the week we went live. The MLS sync alone saved us four hours a day. Our agents were in the CRM on day one — there was nothing to learn.
