Configuring which layers are shown

How to control which overlay layers are enabled on your public listing maps.

Layer settings

Go to MLS Genie™ → Settings → GenieLayers™ in the WordPress admin. The settings panel lets you enable or disable each available overlay layer individually. Layers that are disabled here will not appear in the GenieLayers™ panel on your public site.

Available layer toggles

  • Neighbourhood boundaries — On by default. Shows named neighbourhood outlines loaded from boundary sources and installed packs.
  • Parcel boundaries — Individual lot lines. Requires a minimum zoom level before they render.
  • Flood zones — FEMA flood risk zones.
  • Air quality — AQI data overlaid by region.
  • Tree canopy, grass, weed pollen — Environmental coverage data.

Boundary auto-load

When a visitor opens a listing or searches in an area, neighbourhood boundaries for that area are fetched automatically and displayed on the map. This happens without any action from the visitor — the boundaries appear as soon as the map loads.

Zoom thresholds

Some layers (particularly parcel boundaries) are only rendered above a minimum zoom level to avoid visual clutter at city or region scale. This is handled automatically — no configuration is needed.

We replaced BoomTown and three other tools the week we went live. The MLS sync alone saved us four hours a day. Our agents were in the CRM on day one — there was nothing to learn.
