What is the system prompt?
The system prompt is a set of instructions that defines how Genie Chat behaves — what it knows, how it speaks, and what it should and should not do. It is not visible to visitors but controls every response the AI generates.
Editing the system prompt
Go to MLS Genie™ → Genie Chat → System Prompt. The default prompt is pre-configured for a real estate context. You can extend it with information specific to your agency — your speciality areas, your team's names and roles, frequently asked questions, and any topics the AI should avoid.
Best practices
- Tell the AI your agency name and the areas you serve.
- List your main services (buyer representation, seller representation, property management, etc.).
- Add specific FAQs you hear from clients — the AI will answer them consistently.
- Instruct the AI to always collect contact details before providing highly specific advice.
